One thing that I failed at this semester was obtaining a senate seat for the sophomore class at UF. I didn’t receive enough of the votes and I learned a lot from it. I learned that some things are the way that they are due to tradition. It made me reflect on our campus community and how a lot of people don’t understand what they are doing in the bigger picture. I study sociology and find It interesting to see how everything connects and see how micro level perspectives and can affect society and the macro level of analysis. Normally, I get upset at failure but don’t let it stop me. I will try again usually or just try something new. My perspective on failure has always been the same due to my upbringing. People always had more resources than I typically did so I had to work harder a lot of times while people got a lot handed to them. I do like taking risks although and think that this class has helped me to realize I’m not the only one out there working my ass off to do what I need to get done.
Great post Brynn! I thought you did a great job outlining a failure you went through. Your honesty was appreciated in that it helped illustrate why failure is an important aspect of your lives. It is too bad that you did not get that senate seat, but it is good that you used that situation as a learning experience to better understand why we fail sometimes.
ReplyDeleteHi Brynn! I appreciate you being open and honest about a failure you have recently went through this semester. I think it is really important to keep your mindset of not letting failure stop you. It seems like you always have a good work ethic and I definitely know that one day, everything you have done will be for something special. Great job at never giving up!
